I had the chance to see Cirque du Soleil’s OVO this week and it is amazing. There is nothing as powerful as live performance especially in our high tech screen oriented media saturated world. To see performers push the limits of human capability and excel right before your eyes is astonishing and inspiring. There is nothing frightening about the show in terms of it being inappropriate for children – although the acts are thrilling – trapeze artists, and trampoline artists continue to heighten the danger, and excitement of their performances as the evening progresses. There is also great beauty and artistry in all of the movement on stage. If you have never seen Cirque du Soleil, I urge you to do so, and if you bring the kids they will witness something truly extraordinary that I am sure they will never forget.
