There is nothing better than live performance, and I am a huge believer in exposing your kids to a many wonderful productions as possible. But live shows are expensive, except now thanks to Goldstar.com half price tickets are available to many venues about town. That makes it much more affordable to see Los Angeles’ fabulous offerings. Goldstar is one of those ingenious ideas that I wish I’d thought of. Basically it does for live performance what Expedia.com does for travel! You sign up free and chose your preferences, and they let you know when a show is available for discounted tickets. Or you may surf their site to see what they have coming up. I used to live in New York City and remember the TKTS ticket booth in Times Square. I’d stand in line and shiver for hours hoping to secure some reasonably priced theatre seats. Goldstar is so much easier, and no standing in line!
Recently I saw some listings for Mary Poppins at the Ahmanson theatre, which my daughter adored. I have also seen the Cirque de Soliel show Kooza listed. If you have never seen Cirque de Soliel, you will be blown away by what the performers can do.
