Jabra Hands-Free speaker for your car

cruiser_product_01I know how much time you spend in the car as a busy LACityMom, and much as I know you try not to, I’ve seen you driving around holding your cell phone, or resting it on your shoulder, or putting it on the console on speaker and trying to be heard. I know because I used to do that, too. When I received an estimate of how much it would call to upgrade my car to have an integrated blue tooth phone system, ($800) I decided against it. But I found a great solution and if you don’t have something similar, you really should. Not only is it safer, but you may get a ticket if you don’t have one– a friend recently did and it cost her a whopping $250.00 – for not having a hands free device. I bought a Jabra speaker that is blue tooth and just clips on the driver side visor of my car. (Sticking a speaker in my ear is not appealing to me, although I know that people like those devices too.) With the clip on Jabra device the sound is good and when it is not in use it turns itself off so the battery doesn’t wear down. It was about $50.00, they sell them at any mobile phone store, or you can buy one online.

It feels like an efficient use of time to get calls done on the road, but especially when my kids are in the car I really try to avoid it. I wouldn’t talk to someone else on the phone if an adult were in the car with me, so I try not to with the kids in the backseat. I don’t want the message to them to be that their company is not important to me. But for the times I need to make a call – I do recommend the little Jabra speaker. Drive safely. And please don’t text and drive.
